A different way of experiencing the sea

Active summer experiences to experience sailing in a relaxed and informal environment.

In the summer months I enjoy sailing in Croatia, a sailor’s paradise, and I enjoy sharing my days with people who love the sea as much as I do. We sail between some of Croatia’s most beautiful and least touristy islands alternating between times of sailing, swimming in quiet bays, small explorations ashore and time to relax. I try to avoid marinas and rather choose sheltered bays for the night. There is less noise out there, the water is cleaner, and at night you can see many more stars.

I enjoy creating a crew that cooperates in all tasks on board, from performing maneuvers to hoisting sails, cooking, exploring the islands, and preparing drinks. Those who want to learn or expand their knowledge of sailing will have the opportunity to ask me questions, helm and test themselves.

This is not a typical sailing course, but an experience where learning happens almost without realizing it.

HOW THE WEEK UNFOLDS

The days have a natural rhythm, without rigid schedules.

We often start with a dip that wakes us up for good, then treat ourselves to a hearty breakfast, the “vacation” kind, with no hurry.

Then we hoist the sails and head off to a new island. We sail an average of 4 to 5 hours a day, often broken by a stop for lunch and a swim.

Once we arrive in the bay we go ashore to explore or relax with an aperitif and go ashore the next morning.

In the evening we dine on board or go ashore, depending on the location.

There is always room to participate, converse and laugh, but also to disconnect, enjoy the silence of the sea and the magic of sailing.

There are lots of toys on board for everyone to play with (sup, masks and fins, floating hammocks, ukulele etc etc)

My approach

On board, I like to create an environment where you enjoy your vacation but also learn without pressure.

The main points of my cruises:

  • no shouting and stress

  • small groups

  • collaboration and flexibility
  • respect for everyone’s personal space
  • lots of smiles and lots of good energy

Because the boat should be a place of collaboration, not tension.

Your role on board

There are no “guests” on board, only crew members. According to your preference, you can help:

  • participating in the maneuvers

  • helming

  • cooking

  • preparing aperitifs 🙂

  • teaching us something

The idea is to offer a more immersive experience than a traditional vacation, without turning it into something too challenging.

Life on the boat is simple and shared.

The spaces are smaller than in a house, we cooperate in small daily things and follow the rhythm of the sea.

It is not a luxury vacation, but that is what makes it special:
fewer distractions, more presence, more contact with the environment and people.

This experience is suitable for you if:

  • you want to try sailing without pressure

  • you like the idea of participating, but with freedom to take some time for yourself

  • you are looking for a different vacation by the sea

  • you are comfortable in a simple and informal environment

DATES 2026:

THE ISLANDS WE WILL VISIT

The itinerary is not rigid: we always adapt to the wind and weather conditions to have an enjoyable experience. This makes each week a little different, but we will probably visit:

Lošinj
Clear waters, sheltered bays and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for getting into the rhythm of boating life.

Ist
A small village, few people, much silence.

Susak
A distinctive island with sandy beaches and an identity all its own.

Olib
Simple, quiet, far from the most crowded tourism.

Cres
Wilder, with hidden coves and unspoiled natural landscapes.

If you like the idea, but are not sure if it is the right experience for you, feel free to write to me with your questions.
