When the cold weather arrives, I set out to organize evenings dedicated to the sailing and exotic countries.

I do it because I love bringing some warmth and trade winds to the European winter and meeting hundreds of people who are moved by my stories.

Since 2016, I have done over 80 evenings in many different settings: from small village libraries to large theaters, from sailing clubs to elementary, middle and high schools.

These evenings always warm my heart. Not because of the exotic stories I tell, not because of the pictures of palm trees I project on the screen, but because of the beautiful energy that is created in the room. I believe that this magical atmosphere is due to the great love of the sea and sailing that everyone in the room shares.

It’s a bit like the instant and lasting bond that is created between sailors who meet in the world’s most isolated anchorages. You don’t know the people who has just anchored next to you, but you already know you will like them, because if they are there it means they share the same values as you: the love of freedom and of a simple life, the willingness to put yourself out there while remaining humble, the respect for the environment and for cultures other than our own.
